Remote queueing allows Dojo users to join your queue without physically appearing at your restaurant all through a click of a button.
Where do I find remote queuing?
First log in to your Dojo Bookings account, select 'Settings & then Queue Access'. On this page you will then be able to manage all of the different methods a customer can use to access your queue.
How does it work?
If you're signed up to use the feature and have started your waitlist, guests will be able to join your queue by clicking 'Join Queue' on the App.
What happens when someone joins remotely?
When a guest joins the queue remotely, they'll turn up on your account just as though you've added the guest yourself. You don't have to change the way you've been running the queue and are free to notify and seat guests as you normally would as tables become available. This means no more adding guests at the door.
How do we ensure diners turn up?
Every new app user starts with 2km and, by regularly turning up for their tables, this can increase all the way up to 5km. This is our way of helping promote 'Good Queuing'. The more reliable you are as a diner, the further away you can join a queue from.
However if the user is disloyal and does a 'no show,' their radius will decrease and can decrease up to the point where they will need to head to your restaurant and ask to be added to your waitlist!
FAQ's
No, if they try to join more than 1 we tell them that if they join the second queue they will be kicked out of the first one.
Restaurants are ordered by distance, so the closer a diner is to your restaurant the higher up the list you’ll appear.
If your sites are close enough together then diners should naturally go to your less busy restaurant.
Initially we start very conservative so we stop letting diners join the queue remotely ample of time before you close. We start the buffer an hour before close plus the most extreme wait time but we can reduce this if over time you think you can get more diners in.
Alternatively, you can manually turn remote queuing off when you feel as though your restaurant is at capacity until closing, e.g. you had several large parties that evening.
The wait time is calculated based on a custom wait time algorithm constructed specifically for you.
Most importantly, this wait time will increase and decrease in real time based on how quickly or slowly you’re running at any given moment. All of this is done for you, automatically and on the fly.
If you ever feel as though your wait time estimations are either too long or too short, let us know and we will adjust it accordingly for you!
Alternatively, should you need your wait times to be adjusted straight away for all parties, then you can do so by heading to the Settings page and selecting System Preferences then adding the needed time on 'Additional wait time'.
Note: you will need to add and delete a fake queue place to refresh the system
If for whatever reason you feel you need to change a particular diner's wait time, you can do this via the customer info page that you access by tapping on a diners row and then tapping ‘Edit wait time’. By doing this, you will remove them from the algorithm time updates – so it will no longer update itself.
No worries! If you have any issues that mean you need to switch off remote queuing temporarily, drop us a message on our live chat and we'll get this sorted for you.
We have windows stickers, a website widget and social media which we can share with you, drop us a message on intercom or drop us an email and we’ll get it all setup.
