You can Import future bookings from your old booking system into Dojo so all your bookings are in one place and you can cancel your old provider.
1. Export bookings from your old booking system
Download your booking data as a spreadsheet from your old booking provider.
This will vary between providers, but they’re required to provide you with this data upon request. If you’re struggling to find this, contact them directly.
ResDiary
- Navigate to the 'Reports' tab
- Select 'Booking Report' then 'Booking Details'

Select the following columns under 'List Settings' in the right-hand panel:
- Covers
- Visit Date
- Visit Time
- Customer Details
- Customer Name
- Customer Email
- Mobile Number
- Booking Notes
- Click 'Run Report' and export the report as a CSV file.
OpenTable
- Select 'Reservations' in the left-hand panel
- In the 'Visit date' field at the top of the page, select today's date as the start date and the date on which the furthest booking in the future is, as the end date

Select the following columns in the 'Column' dropdown:
- Visit Date
- Visit Time
- Customer Details
- Customer Name
- Customer Email
- Mobile Number
- Booking Notes
- Click 'Export' on the right-hand side of the report. You will receive an email with a CSV file of the report.
The Fork
- Click the search bar at the top of the screen
- Click the sliders icon and select 'Reservations'
- Select the date range, then click 'Export results'
- You'll receive a notification in TheFork Manager after a few seconds. Click on the bell icon and click 'Download the file.'
2. Format your bookings for Dojo
Your spreadsheet of booking data must be formatted in a specific way to make sure Dojo has all the information we need to import your bookings correctly.
Fill out the template at the bottom of this article or follow the instructions below:
Date & Time, Name, Party Size, and Phone Number or it cannot be processed.

Date & Time
This can be formatted in one of two ways:- A combined Date & Time column - yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm
- Separate Date and Time columns:
- Date: dd/mm/yyyy
- Time: hh:mmAM/PM (12h) or hh:mm (24h)

Name
This can be formatted in one of two ways:- A combined Name column - John Doe
- Separate First Name and Last Name columns:
- First Name - John
- Last Name - Doe

Party size
This must be a whole positive number -
Phone number
This must contain the phone number of the booking and should include the country calling code if it’s not a UK number - Email (optional)

Booking notes (optional)
Your file can contain as many columns labelled ‘Notes’ as you like and their contents will be added as notes to the bookings -
Customer requests (optional)
Your file can contain as many columns labelled ‘Requests’ as you like and their contents will be added as customer requests to the bookings
3. Forward your document to Dojo
Email your correctly formatted file to bookingsetup@dojo.tech with your location name as the subject.
The booking will be uploaded to Dojo Bookings within 24 hours.
All customers whose booking includes an email address will be notified that Dojo is now providing their booking with you and processing their data on your behalf.
If your Dojo RMS has been set up with automatic table allocation, we’ll also attempt to allocate these bookings to tables for you. If we can’t assign a table the booking will still be imported for you to manually assign.
